BIOELIJAH GUO (SAG-AFTRA / AEA) is a New York City based actor, writer and musician. They received their M.F.A. in Acting from the American Repertory Theater / Moscow Art Theatre Institute for Advanced Theater Training at Harvard University. Elijah recently wrote, produced and starred in the TV show My Friend Will, which premiered at the 2018 Tribeca TV Festival and streamed on the Roku Channel - as well as Stand-Ins, which premiered at the Emmys-sponsored Catalyst Story Institute.
Other TV credits include recurring roles on High Maintenance (HBO) and StartUp (Netflix) opposite The O.C.’s Adam Brody, as well as co-starring roles on Law & Order: SVU (NBC), The Blacklist (NBC) and Power (Starz). Film credits include a featured role in the Mark Wahlberg movie Patriots Day (Lionsgate / CBS Films). Theater credits include leading roles in Hansel and Gretel and The Flu Season (American Repertory Theater), The Imaginary Invalid (Moscow Art Theatre) and A Dream of Red Pavilions (workshop with Pan Asian Repertory Theatre). At the University of California, Berkeley, Elijah originated the role of Eng in the Guggenheim Award-winning Philip Kan Gotanda’s I Dream of Chang and Eng and worked with Poet Laureate Robert Hass to adapt the poetry collection Time and Materials to the stage, earning Elijah the Departmental Citation, the theater program’s highest award. Elijah is proficient in piano, trumpet, guitar and ukulele – writing and performing songs regularly. Elijah is a graduate of the Upright Citizens Brigade improv school and was selected for their advanced Academy program. Elijah's fluent in Spanish, speaks basic Mandarin, and is trained in voice & speech, dialects, clowning, circus skills, on-camera (Bob Krakower), voiceover, dance (modern, ballroom, ballet), movement, combat, fencing and Shakespeare. |
